As IT ecosystems become more complex, it gets more difficult for businesses to manage user identities and access to resources. JumpCloud wants to remove the complexity and is enlisting MSPs in this mission.
JumpCloud just launched a new partner program that can help MSPs assert themselves in the identity management space. By joining the program, MSPs can improve security practices, drive operational efficiencies, and grow their business, says Antoine Jebara (pictured above), co-founder and general manager of JumpCloud’s MSP business.
The JumpCloud platform gives MSPs a central dashboard to manage identities by authenticating, authorizing, and managing users, devices, and applications wherever they are located.
“We are an open directory platform that lives in the cloud and connects with all the different identify providers, devices, cloud applications, on-prem applications, and network resources, allowing end users to seamlessly access any type of resource they need to access,” Jebara tells MSP Success.
Founded in 2013, JumpCloud earlier this year acquired Resmo, an asset management and SaaS security solution. The acquisition integrates advanced IT, cloud, and SaaS asset security and management capabilities into JumpCloud’s open directory platform.
Four-Tier Program
The new JumpCloud Partner Program has four tiers–Member, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. As partners move up, they qualify for more incentives and unlock benefits such as larger discounts, added marketing support, and new financial opportunities.
In the early stages, Jebara says, partners get guidance in how to scope a potential client base and identify customers that can benefit from the JumpCloud platform. “We will help partners along with positioning JumpCloud as their offering.”
JumpCloud has worked with MSPs and other partners for years but decided to launch the new program to “put some new structure around our current stage of growth.” In so doing, Jebara says, JumpCloud expects to attract new partners while boosting support for existing partners with tier-based discounts, exclusive resources, priority support, and co-marketing opportunities.
“The goal is to really work alongside our partners as they grow their JumpCloud footprint to ensure that we’re supporting them across every stage of the journey,” he says.
JumpCloud’s unified approach to identity management aims to simplify, secure, and scale IT management, Jebara says. A unified management platform reduces operational costs, drives efficiencies, and helps boost partner margin.
Partners, he says, get to “leverage enterprise-grade capabilities that they can apply to their SMBs.” At the same time, MSPs benefit by reducing the number of customer support tickets they handle, simplifying user workflows, and improving security and visibility across their clients’ environments, he says.
Having control over identities, access, and device management is going to remain a top priority for businesses as IT and security systems become more complex, Jebara says. This can put a strain on IT teams. But with the help of MSPs, businesses don’t have to burden their IT and security teams with tasks involved in managing multiple identity and access tools, he says.
In supporting customers with these needs, Jebara says, MSPs position themselves as trusted partners. They also get poised for growth in a space where customers will continue to need help for the foreseeable future. At the same time, MSPs also will help JumpCloud grow its market presence, Jebara says.
