Kaseya Appoints Rania Succar as Chief Executive Officer

Kaseya today announced the appointment of Rania Succar as its new CEO. Succar was previously head of Intuit Mailchimp, a leading email marketing automation platform.

Succar has a proven track record of accelerating growth and driving customer-focused innovation. Over the past nine years at Intuit, she led large-scale businesses helping small and midmarket companies thrive. As head of QuickBooks Money, her teams improved financial outcomes for businesses—enabling faster payments, easier access to capital and smarter cash flow forecasting. Under her leadership, the platform saw significant growth in payments volume and expanded access to capital for small businesses. More recently, as Head of Intuit Mailchimp, she fueled revenue growth for small businesses by introducing advanced AI and SMS capabilities, expanding international reach, and leading the platform’s integration into Intuit’s ecosystem. She also brings valuable experience from prior roles at Google, McKinsey, and Merrill Lynch.

Succar is also the co-founder and board member of Jusoor, a global nonprofit which has bridged education gaps for 15,000 Syrian youth and refugees since 2011. Succar was awarded the Outstanding Arab American Philanthropist of the Year by the Center for Arab American Philanthropy, or CAAP, in 2023 for her work with Jusoor.

She has a Harvard MBA, a Harvard MPA in International Development, and a Harvard BA in economics.

“We’re very proud of the scale and impact Kaseya has achieved—becoming a critical platform for managed service providers supporting small and midsized businesses navigating increasingly complex IT and security demands,” said Mike Triplett, chairman of the board at Kaseya and managing director at Insight Partners, in a press statement. “In our search for a new CEO, we sought a leader with the vision and capability to elevate Kaseya into one of the most essential platforms for MSPs and the broader SMB technology ecosystem. Rania’s bold leadership and track record in building and scaling innovative, customer-centric businesses for the SMB market make her an ideal leader to guide Kaseya into its next chapter and potential IPO.”

Kaseya Transitions to Next Stage of Growth

With the appointment of Succar, Kaseya has transitioned to its next stage of growth. Kaseya’s entire leadership team has radically changed over the last year, starting with the appointment of Ryan Courson as CFO in June 2024. And in January of this year, the company announced that Fred Voccola was transitioning to vice chairman after serving as CEO for 10 years and overseeing 18 acquisitions, and billions of dollars spent on R&D to transform Kaseya from a single product company to a complete platform for MSPs and IT professionals,

Then in April, Kaseya announced the appointment of Jim Lippie, former CEO of SaaS Alerts, which Kaseya acquired last fall, as chief product officer. He replaced Ranjan Singh, who is now chief product and technology officer for Mimecast. Former CRO Mike Sanders, who is now CEO of Upshop, also departed Kaseya in April.

Lippie is charged with advancing the Kaseya 365 platform. In April at Kaseya Connect in Las Vegas, the company rolled out Kaseya 365 Ops, the newest edition to the Kaseya 365 platform which applies practical AI to help MSPs scale efficiently, improve operations, and offer customers top tier service delivery. The company also announced Kaseya SIEM, which correlates threat data from RocketCyber and SaaS Alerts, combining endpoint and cloud telemetry.

In addition to advancing the Kaseya 365 platform, Lippie said at the time of his appointment that “we’re going to be looking at and evaluating all of our policies in how we interact with our customers in the community. Innovation isn’t just about product; it’s about the customer experience and the policies that dictate what a customer experience is. We’re going to evaluate everywhere that we can to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our customers. That is something that I am really focused on, because I was a customer.”

New CEO Understands Small Business Needs, Customer Experience

Succar is no stranger to leading in transitions. Intuit purchased Mailchimp in 2021 for $12 billion, and less than a year later, she replaced co-founder Ben Chestnut as head of the company.

On the Kleiner Perkins Grit podcast in 2023, Succar told host Joubin Mirzadegan she has a deep understanding of the two biggest challenges for small business owners: getting new customers and growing existing customers. She explained that she grew up as the daughter of a small business owner; her father had a medical practice. In addition, Succar told Mirzadegan that she has “a very high bar for everything I do in life.”

She also shared that she likes to make “impact with speed.”

In a LinkedIn post about her departure from Intuit, she wrote: “As my time at Intuit comes to an end, I’ve been reflecting on how special these past nine years have been. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of a company that makes such a meaningful impact on the world around us. The opportunity to innovate on behalf of small businesses every day—and to hear firsthand how our products have helped them seize opportunities they might have otherwise missed—has been deeply motivating for me.”

In a press statement today, Succar said, “It’s a privilege to join Kaseya and contribute to a mission that deeply resonates with me. Kaseya plays a vital role—alongside its MSP partners in more than 170 countries—in helping small and midsized businesses thrive in an increasingly complex digital landscape. I look forward to working hand in hand with our MSP partners to drive even greater outcomes for SMBs and to build on Kaseya’s strong foundation. The opportunity ahead is immense.”

“We want to welcome Rania to the industry,” said Robin Robins, CEO of MSP Success and TMT. “We’re super excited. She’s got marketing in her DNA, and she is in tune with small business owners, and that’s exactly who MSPs are.”
