TD SYNNEX: Helping MSPs Make ‘The Right Bets’ On High-Growth Opportunities

TD SYNNEX launched the new MSP Evolve program at its Beyond Security conference taking place this week in Boston at the Encore hotel. MSP Evolve, which had a “soft launch” earlier in the year, features a range of support, services, solutions, and training, including features within the global TD SYNNEX StreamOne Cloud Platform, to help MSPs streamline processes, support clients, and take advantage of high-growth opportunities. The program is initially available for North America partners but will be rolled globally over time.

Themed “Building Connections,” the conference emphasized to attendees the opportunity the distributor anticipates in high-growth technologies as digital transformation continues to evolve the MSP landscape, specifically the convergence of artificial intelligence, security, hybrid cloud, modern infrastructure, and data analytics.

Ed Morales

MSPs want to do two things, says Ed Morales, TD SYNNEX global vice president, security and high growth business development. “They want to make their businesses more efficient, to drive costs out of the operations, but also accelerate growth. And really what we’ve designed the [MSP Evolve] program is to do both,” he says.

There’s a lot “noise” and a maze of offerings around AI and other high-growth technologies, Morales says. “We’re just trying to make sure that they make the right bets … by providing access to the full portfolio of our value, but also help them navigate through this maze.”

As part of this effort, the distributor last week rolled out its High-Growth Technology Center of Excellence (CoE). The new resource hub is designed to accelerate partners’ ability to tackle increasingly complex digital transformation initiatives.

MSP Evolve

MSP Evolve is specifically designed to help MSPs take advantage of emerging opportunities, explains Meredith Payne (pictured at top), senior director, cloud, at TD SYNNEX. One of those opportunities is with hyperscalers, she says. “They’re all going to tell you, ‘we want to work with more MSPs.’ And they want to do that because … the MSPs almost always are bringing that services capability, which is what the hyperscalers are frankly looking for. So that’s the opportunity.”

But Payne says MSPs have told TD SYNNEX that although they’re getting leads from Microsoft, Google, and AWS, they often have to turn them down because they lack the skills or personnel. “With this program, it really allows for us to essentially step in and make them feel bigger than they are.”

While the distributor has had various MSP offerings in the past, they have now been combined and enhanced with services, education, and enablement, including Destination AI, which was launched last year to help partners initiate or expand their AI practice. MSP Evolve is “the next iteration of taking all that enablement and providing it discretely for an MSP partner,” Morales says. “So it’s not the first program, but it’s the first global program that we’ve launched that’s going to be uniform across all regions.”

StreamOne Platform

Morales says TD SYNNEX has enhanced the StreamOne platform “to really target the MSP.”

The StreamOne platform allows MSPs to integrate best-of-breed tools via an open API architecture, including the newly enhanced PSA Connectors for ConnectWise and Autotask featuring automatic billing reconciliation. Other StreamOne capabilities to help MSPs optimize and scale their cloud business include IaaS optimization tools, white label storefronts, access to real-time subscription and consumption data, and StreamOne MSP Ready Solutions.

“It’ll help them operationalize their business even further,” Morales says. “We do a consolidated billing because we support all the various clouds. We’re one of the few that actually has Microsoft, AWS, and Google. And typically, the end customer is going to dictate what kind of cloud they’re going to want to consume. The platform will help facilitate that as well.”

Integral to MSP Evolve is the services available to help MSPs, Morales says. “The partner has the ability, no matter where they’re at in that spectrum, to be able to access anything they need as an MSP from the front end of hardware, through the cloud, through services, through learnings of enablement for specific vendors or AI, and even financial services to help them finance their businesses as they’re transforming from a physical to a hybrid into a full digital [provider] or MSSP.”

Among the security resources available to MSPs is the Security Operations Center (SOC) Service, which provides continuous monitoring of IT infrastructure, as well as security audits, incident response planning, and reporting services. The MSP Evolve program also includes complimentary and paid cybersecurity assessments covering risk, vulnerability and cloud to help our partners provide assessments to their customers.

“A lot of our MSP partners are not yet equipped to deliver security, and we want to be able to remedy that,” Morales says. “And this is where they can come to us to help them do that. And we’ve been doing security for decades, so we’re not new to this.”

Payne says TD SYNNEX will continue to enhance MSP Evolve. “We’ve been getting active feedback from our MSPs and so we have some development going on as we speak. So that content will continue to come forward over the course of the year.”

Morales sums up, “We want to meet the partner where they’re at and then help them grow and evolve.”
