Kaseya Acquires INKY and Supercharges Backup Portfolio at DattoCon 2025: AI, Security, and Automation Take Center Stage

Kaseya came out swinging at its sold-out DattoCon 2025 conference in Miami Beach, unveiling a bold slate of moves designed to cement its leadership in the AI-driven MSP ecosystem. The company announced the acquisition of INKY—an industry leader in AI-assisted email security—alongside major expansions to its backup and recovery portfolio, and a sneak peek at its forthcoming AI-powered Digital Workforce.

The three headline announcements include:

  • Acquisition of INKY, bringing advanced, AI-driven phishing protection into the Kaseya 365 User ecosystem.
  • Launch of Datto Backup for Microsoft Entra ID, delivering identity data protection for a critical threat vector.
  • Debut of Datto SIRIS 6, a new value-focused recovery appliance.

“MSPs stand at a once-in-a-generation crossroads as they lead the digital transformation for SMBs around the world,” said Rania Succar, CEO at Kaseya. “They have the opportunity to become indispensable in this next phase of AI-led innovation with security, intelligence and automation. Kaseya is investing with urgency to arm our MSP partners with the data, insights and tools they need – packaged and priced for margin-expanding growth.”

In her morning keynote, Succar outlined what role Kaseya will play in ensuring MSP partners become and continue to be indispensable.

“First, she said, “we are going to become an API-first company. Take a moment to let that sink in. We are going to build secure and modern APIs for each one of our offerings while unifying them. So you’ll be able to authenticate once to Kaseya One and take advantage of the entire platform. Think about the scripting capabilities you’ll have. Think about the impact this will have on how third parties will integrate with Kaseya as an open ecosystem, and think about the ability you’re now going to have to build on top of the Kaseya platform so you can deliver custom solutions to your customers.”

At the same time, she said Kaseya is going to be unifying their data layer to build more powerful offerings and to give MSPs the ability to do things like query the data set for business intelligence.” We’ve barely scratched the surface of this data until now …. The possibilities are endless.”

Third, with the investments in APIs and connected data, “we’ll be able to deliver for you the most advanced AI in the industry. Think of an AI assisted Kaseya PowerShell here. You’ll be able to use natural language to code your scripts and you’ll be able to take advantage of the knowledge of the 50,000 other MSPs in our ecosystem through a robust recipe library. I hope you’re as excited as I am about the possibilities. Our platform is incredibly strong today, but these changes are game changing.”

MSP Success got an exclusive backstage interview with Succar minutes after delivering the keynote. See what she had to say in the video below, and then continue reading to drill down into the announcements.

INKY Acquisition Adds Email Security to Kaseya 365 User

INKY brings a singular approach to email protection—combining generative AI, behavioral analysis and real-time user coaching to stop even the most sophisticated phishing and impersonation attacks. Rather than simply blocking messages, INKY’s contextual intelligence helps users make safer decisions by alerting them to potential risks directly within their inbox. This AI-assisted design, paired with the ability to adapt to emerging threats like conversation hijacking and QR-code phishing, has made INKY one of the most advanced and trusted email security platforms in the market.

The acquisition aims to strengthens Kaseya’s end-to-end cybersecurity platform and advance Kaseya 365 User with next-generation, AI-driven email protection.

“Kaseya is committed to being the indispensable partner that helps MSPs lead in this next chapter of IT and security,” said Succar. “No one else has our scale, data advantage, and end-to-end platform to deliver enterprise-grade protection to small and midsize businesses. With INKY joining the Kaseya family, its powerful AI-driven email security becomes even more effective — informed by our platform’s data, integrated across our ecosystem, and available through Kaseya 365 User. Together, we’ll deliver the most connected and proactive security experience in the industry.”

“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built at INKY — a product that has consistently stayed ahead of attackers by understanding intent, not just content,” said Dave Baggett, founder and CEO of INKY. “Joining Kaseya allows us to take that innovation to the next level. Kaseya’s scale, data, and commitment to R&D amplify everything we’ve created, helping us bring our technology to more customers and make email communication safer for everyone.”

INKY will be available as a stand-alone product and included as part of Kaseya 365 User.

Significant Advancements to Kaseya Backup Portfolio

Backup took center stage on the opening day of DattoCon too, and Chief Product Officer Jim Lippie revealed the new solutions to much audience applause.

The company unveiled Datto Backup for Microsoft Entra ID, a new purpose-built backup and recovery solution that protects one of the most critical threat vectors, identity data, and ensures rapid restoration after accidental deletions, misconfigurations, or attacks. This allows MSPs to quickly recover users, groups, and roles to keep businesses running when Entra ID isn’t available.

This capability will be available as a standalone product and will also be available included in Kaseya 365 User for free.

In another announcement, the new Datto SIRIS 6 comes in at the lower cost in the market for a value recovery appliance, according to Kaseya.

Further, Kaseya previewed its fully integrated Cyber Resiliency Platform that will begin delivering features in April 2026. The solution will provide a unified view, flexible pricing, and pooled storage that enables MSPs to support all backup use cases.

Leaning Harder into Automation with Digital Workforce

Kaseya also revealed it is creating an AI-powered Digital Workforce that solves universal pain points that all MSPs face, regardless of size or specialty, by leveraging the power of an agentic learning system. As a native capability of the Kaseya platform, the Digital Workforce provides a single view across all components and the unified data stream that flows between them. This offering comprises digital specialists using agentic reasoning that understand MSPs’ environments, and can think, assess and act as a top-tier technician.

“We listened when you told us you were drowning in complexity,” Lippie said. “We listened when you said that your best people were burning out on low level tasks. And we listened when you said you needed to move from being reactive to proactive. This platform is our answer. The Digital Workforce is more than just our product strategy. It’s our promise to you that our innovation will always be in service of your growth. It’s a promise to help you evaluate your people, turning technicians into strategists of unlocking the human potential trapped inside the ticketing queue. And it’s a promise that Kaseya will always be your partner in building next-generation managed services, not defined by the tools that you manage, but by the outcomes that you deliver.”

Kaseya said it will deliver limited availability to Digital Workforce beginning in Spring 2026.

Accelerated Timeline for Ending High Watermark Pricing

Executive also announced that effective December 2025, Kaseya is ending its High Watermark pricing policy for Datto RMM, SaaS Protection, and Autotask. These products will transition to a Committed Minimum Quantity and Variable Consumption policy, with the rest of Kaseya’s tools expected to do the same by the end of June 2026. Based on customer feedback regarding the importance of this update the Kaseya team accelerated the timeline materially to deliver earlier than previously announced.

Continued Strengthening of the Kaseya Platform

Together, these announcements highlight Kaseya’s strategy to strengthen its platform through security, backup, and AI-driven automation. The company is signaling continued investment in expanding its capabilities and providing MSPs with integrated tools to support evolving customer needs.
