Weekly News Roundup: Around the Channel

Staples is bringing back its iconic “Easy Button,”  celebrating the marketing campaign’s 20th anniversary (yes, that was easy)—and while we love a good throwback, most MSPs know there’s nothing easy about helping your customers align their business goals with technology while trying to keep them safe by staying one step ahead of cybercriminals.

Still, this week’s channel news roundup includes a few things that do make life a little easier: agentic AI, bidirectional encryption, BCDR, and more. Plus, we look at enhancements to one cybersecurity vendor’s partner program and share some new research on why organizations are so vulnerable to identity-based attacks.

So push the metaphorical Easy Button and dig in. Happy reading!

Wildix Rolls Out Embedded Agentic AI for UCaaS

Wildix, a global unified communications as a service (UCaaS) provider, launched a fully embedded agentic AI layer, now operational across more than 1,000 customer environments.

Designed to adapt to how each organization operates, the AI layer automates interactions across voice, chat, SMS, WhatsApp, and the web, without relying on static scripts or bolted-on bots, according to the company. The system interprets language, references past exchanges, and applies contextual logic to guide each decision.

Modular by design, the system can be tailored to specific workflows. Configuration happens through a visual no-code studio, making deployment fast, repeatable, and scalable for MSP partners.

“Organizations are under pressure to accelerate service, reduce costs, and improve responsiveness,” said Dimitri Osler, co-founder and CIO of Wildix, in a press statement. “This release is designed to meet those expectations immediately. Our AI doesn’t just assist. It executes, adapts, and integrates natively into existing workflows with zero disruption.”

Other key capabilities include multilingual support in 13+ languages, across voice and chat; sentiment-aware escalation to route complex or emotional cases to humans; and native integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, WhatsApp, and Make.com. In addition, the system offers omnichannel deployment, including browser, mobile, headsets and embeddable widgets; persistent memory across agents, channels, and sessions; and GDPR-aligned architecture with transcription engines separated from LLMs to protect PII

The AI layer is available across the full Wildix suite, including x-bees for sales-oriented teams, x-hoppers for frontline retail, and Collaboration 7 for business operations.

Upcoming enhancements include unified scoring to assess both AI and human agent performance, CRM-driven coaching with real-time next-best-action prompts, native WhatsApp automation with live handoff, and expanded language support.

Keeper Security Introduces Single-Use Bidirectional Encryption

Keeper Security, a privileged access management (PAM) software provider, enhanced its One-Time Share (OTS) feature with bidirectional, single-use encrypted sharing between Keeper users and non-users. Previously, users were able to send view-only external shares. Now, non-users can also exchange data with Keeper users, offering end-to-end encryption for both parties.

OTS is designed to securely share credentials and files with a selected recipient for one-time use. These shares are protected in transit by Keeper’s elliptic-curve and AES-256 cryptography and can only be decrypted locally on the recipient’s device. Once received, shared records automatically expire based on the sender’s specified time. Additionally, each share is restricted to a single device, allowing the recipient to access the shared data multiple times until it expires or the sender terminates the share—whichever occurs first.

“Bidirectional One-Time Share is the latest step in our commitment to ensuring that all customers can simply and securely exchange confidential information with end-to-end encryption,” said Craig Lurey, CTO and co-founder of Keeper Security, in a press statement. “By adding bidirectional editing support, we add yet another layer of security to our users’ cyber defenses.”

Integrations & Partnerships

GoTo and Acronis Integrate Endpoint Management with BCDR

GoTo and Acronis are partnering to launch the new LogMeIn Data Protection Suite powered by Acronis. This strategic partnership brings together LogMeIn Resolve’s unified endpoint management (UEM) capabilities with business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) tools from Acronis.

The integrated offering, built for MSPs, is the first phase of the new strategic partnership between the companies, with additional integrations and updates in the months ahead, according to the companies.

“IT teams and managed service providers today are tasked with managing incredibly complex environments, and that means endpoint management, backup, and disaster recovery are often handled in separate, siloed platforms,” said Joseph George, GM, IT Solutions Group at GoTo, in a press statement. “Lack of integration across these silos, however, can lead to missed backups, inconsistent policies applied across devices, and delayed disaster recovery responses. We’ve partnered with Acronis to create a solution to these challenges with the new LogMeIn Data Protection, delivering a connected, scalable experience that dramatically reduces risk, complexity, and time to incident response.”

Highlights of the new offering include:

  • Manage endpoints, schedule custom backups, and deploy agents in the Resolve console.
  • Configure backups to meet the demands of your customers or needs of your organization with file-level, disk-level, image, and application backups.
  • Automate backup timing with policy-based controls for start-time, frequency, and recurrence.
  • Extend your backup to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 SaaS for complete coverage across cloud services and endpoints.
  • Immediately restore systems with historical backup snapshots to minimize downtime and resume operations without delay in the event of a cyberattack, data loss, or system failure.

In addition, current Acronis BCDR customers will be able to enroll backup agents on devices and configure custom schedules directly from Resolve.

Distribution

Netwrix 1Secure for data security posture management (DSPM) for MSPs is now available on the Pax8 cloud marketplace. “Providing the Netwrix DSPM solution through the Pax8 marketplace is another step toward strengthening our relationship with the MSP community,” says Britt Norwood, chief revenue officer at Netwrix, in a press statement. “We are committed to delivering our solutions through MSPs and will continue to provide the tools, resources, and support they need to grow their business and deliver value to their customers.”

Partner Programs

Bitdefender Enhances Global Channel Program

Cybersecurity vendor Bitdefender announced major enhancements to its Partner Advantage Network for resellers and MSPs. The program introduces a new Platinum tier, expands access to advanced security solutions through the Not-for-Resale (NFR) program, and simplifies the deal registration process.

The new Platinum tier for top-performing partners provides priority access to benefits, dedicated support, and joint go-to-market opportunities.

In addition, Bitdefender’s enhanced NFR program now includes MDR access for MSPs and provides all partners with access to its full suite of security solutions, including XDR, for internal use and demonstration purposes. And NFR device allocation is now tier-based, ensuring equitable distribution and maximizing benefits across partner levels in both the reseller and MSP programs.

Finally, the deal registration process has been streamlined to reduce administrative overhead and shorten sales cycles. The new system eliminates the requirement to input detailed product configurations at the time of registration and no longer requires re-approval if deal elements change.

M&A – Vendors

Salesforce and Informatica have entered into an agreement for Salesforce to acquire Informatica for approximately $8 billion in equity value, net of Salesforce’s current investment in Informatica. Under the terms of the agreement, holders of Informatica’s Class A and Class B-1 common stock will receive $25 in cash per share.

Lack of IAM Maturity Leaves Organizations Vulnerable to Identity-based Threats

New research reveals that most organizations are falling short in their identity and access management (IAM) strategy. As a result, organizations are leaving themselves vulnerable to identity-based threats.

GuidePoint Security’s State of Identity and Access Management (IAM) Maturity Report, conducted with the Ponemon Institute, finds that IAM programs are underfunded and underdeveloped.  Only half of respondents rate their IAM tools as effective, and even fewer (44%) express high confidence in their ability to prevent identity-based incidents.

Respondents point to a lack of appropriate technologies (54%), in-house expertise (52%), and resources (45%) as top challenges to achieving IAM maturity.

IAM programs are also misaligned with cybersecurity threats. For instance, 45% of respondents say the primary driver for IAM investments is to improve user experience—not security.

“These findings should serve as a call to action—identity is a primary attack vector and needs to be prioritized,” said Kevin Converse, vice president, identity and access management, at GuidePoint Security, in a press statement. “Many organizations still rely on manual processes and outdated approaches, limiting their ability to manage risk. Achieving IAM maturity means understanding that IAM is more than just an IT function—it’s a cornerstone of a robust and proactive security strategy.”

He added, “IAM touches every application, user and device across the network,. By treating it as a strategic priority—and investing accordingly—organizations can confidently embrace emerging technologies like AI, minimize risk and accelerate business growth.”
