NerdioCon 2025 kicked off with a bang in Palm Springs, California, this week. From major update announcements from the CEO in his opening keynote, including the latest update to Nerdio Manager for MSP, to breakout sessions detailing exactly how Nerdio partners can get the best bang for their buck, here’s what you need to know.
CRO Keynote Reveals Nerdio’s Strategic Imperatives for 2025
Nerdio’s CRO, Joseph Landes, shared two of the company’s strategic imperatives for the year, designed to make sure Nerdio remains perfectly in sync with their partners.
The first is about winning at modern work; this ties closely to Nerdio’s partnership with Microsoft around Windows 365. “We believe that if anybody is doing a Windows 365 deployment, it should include Nerdio, with all the tremendous functionality and value [we’ve added] … In late 2024, we made an investment to help MSPs take full advantage of M365, and we’re continuing to build that out,” Landes said.
The other strategic imperative is one Nerdio maintains every year—to build a world-class channel. “I think we’ve done a great job of that, but we’ve got a long way to go,” Landes said. “We’re going to continue to invest in building a world-class channel.” To this end, he asked Nerdio partners to continue giving them feedback as they evolve.
Major Nerdio Updates Coming for Partners
During his opening keynote, Nerdio CEO Vadim Vladimirskiy announced the launch of Nerdio Manager for MSP (NMM) version 7.0.
“This year, our one major product initiative with NMM is to make it MSPs’ one platform that provides them with total control over their customer’s entire Microsoft Cloud environment,” says Vladimirskiy. “This release delivers on [that].”
Some of v7’s features include new integrations with Azure Government, PSA platforms including ConnectWise and Autotask, and Microsoft Partner Center; Console Connect Toolbox, which allows MSPs to take control of a user’s session without connecting to their screen or disrupting their session; and the long-awaited NMM dark mode.
“When we started Nerdio Manager for MSPs, it was focused on Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure infrastructure,” Vladimirskiy says. “With this latest version, we’re expanding the scope of what NMM can manage. [We’re taking it] beyond just Azure, into the modern work world of Microsoft, specifically Microsoft 365 Intune and Defender.” NMM v7.0 is available now for Nerdio partners.
Vladimirskiy also teased some “ambitious plans” for the rest of this year. These include AI Policy Butler, a new capability designed to handle policy housekeeping tasks, advance reporting capabilities for M365 and Intune, and new workflows to automate the onboarding and offboarding of users.
These innovations come on the heels of Nerdio’s recent $500 million investment. Vladimirskiy says the company intends to put this money into three buckets. “Number one is expanding product functionality, both deepening the functionality in the areas that we are already in and expanding it to other Microsoft technologies,” he says. “Number two is expanding our geographical reach from a go-to market perspective, opening offices and locations in other countries that we currently don’t do much business in. Third is investing in customer success; our customer base is growing, and we want to make sure we keep all our customers up-to-date and taking full advantage of our technology, [even as] we evolve the technology so rapidly.”

How to Get Better Margins with Nerdio’s Offerings
Will Ominsky, Nerdio’s VP of MSP sales, had some strategies to offer MSPs who were excited about the new features being offered, but not sure how to best utilize them to maximize their margins.
Simplify your tool stack. Some MSPs end up picking up so many different tools, some managing as many as 40 different vendors, that they risk their ability to make healthy margins. “Using something like Microsoft 365, which your customers are probably already buying, and maximizing that investment by using all the other great tools that come with it, [is a great way to get the most bang for your buck]. That’s easier said than done, but your ROI can be incredible if you bundle products while maintaining your security standards,” Ominsky says.
Standardize your offering between clients. Maximizing your margins while maintaining high security standards hinges on standardization across your customer base, says Ominsky. “[Specializing things for each customer] makes it very expensive and hard to support them, even though most of them might be buying the same license,” he says. “Aligning yourself to certain security standards, such as the Center for Internet Security’s (CIS), can provide amazing guidance.” These guidelines are built directly into Nerdio’s offerings, making them easy for partners to access and utilize to align their customers.
Use the tools you’re already paying for. Microsoft partners have access to tools underutilized by many MSPs, like Secure Store and Microsoft Defender. Secure Store has a feature called Tenant Monitoring that can spit out reports based on your standards, enabling you to simplify the insurance attestation process. Defender does a great job of gathering data and alerting MSPs to threats. “Defender is a fantastic product,” says Ominsky. “I talk to MSPs all the time who have Microsoft Business Premium, and they don’t have Defender turned on. You’re essentially throwing money out the door.”
Launch Day Thoughts from Other MSPs
“We’ve been using Nerdio for a long time. Every time they add something, it certainly makes our lives easier,” says Phil Long, system engineer at Ability Technologies, an MSP and Nerdio partner based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dustin Stone, service manager at Ability Technologies, agrees, saying, “That’s something I’ve always liked about Nerdio. Usually, companies will change things just for the sake of [changing them]; [Nerdio] is actually listening to feedback and moving things forward. [NMM] has become a really full-featured tool.”
