NinjaOne Announces New Capabilities to Improve Users’ Experiences with Their Devices

NinjaOne, an RMM platform vendor, announced some expanded capabilities to improve the digital employee experience (DEX). The new use cases include self-service workflows, end-user dashboards, and user-centric automations to make organizations and their employees more efficient and secure.

The platform’s web and mobile portals now allow users to resolve common IT needs independently, from file recovery to software installation, through automated request handling. In addition, user-centric dashboards and workflows prioritize employee experience over device management, to maximize productivity.

Lastly, real-time endpoint monitoring with automated remediation capabilities lets MSPs identify and resolve issues before they impact users, often without manual intervention.

“NinjaOne is a natural fit for addressing digital employee experience use cases. Supporting end-user productivity is what drives IT activities—DEX takes us the last mile in validating that end users are getting what they need,” said Rahul Hirani, SVP of product management at NinjaOne, in a press statement. “With NinjaOne, customers can gain real-time and holistic visibility into their managed devices, monitor and get alerts on disruptions to user activity, and carefully control changes across their IT estate.”

Cato Networks’ SASE-native LAN Next-Gen Firewall Aims to Close the Patching Gap

Cato Networks, a SASE provider, announced a SASE-native LAN next generation firewall (NGFW) that converges all firewall engines for seamless management and deep visibility from the cloud into the LAN. The Cato LAN NGFW is a native capability of the Cato SASE Cloud Platform, requiring no additional hardware, and is fully self-updating and self-maintaining, eliminating manual patching and emergency fixes.

The Cato LAN NGFW enables Layer 7, application-aware controls for local LAN segmentation while ensuring centralized policy enforcement. By converging all firewalls (internet, site-to-site, and within the LAN), Cato simplifies policy management and delivers consistent enforcement using its security engine.

The Cato LAN NGFW also enables organizations to meet compliance requirements for localized traffic control; transition from legacy LAN firewalls; simplify security for distributed environments; and secure east-west traffic with microsegmentation to reduce risk.

The Cato LAN NGFW is generally available worldwide at no additional cost to Cato customers.

By the Numbers

New Bitwarden Report Finds Password Management Remains a Challenge

New research from Bitwarden, a password, passkey, and secrets management provider, finds that 65% of enterprises still rely solely on passwords to access corporate systems. Commissioned from 451 Research, the report finds that 37% of applications still support only password-based logins, and just 21% of enterprises have implemented FIDO2 passwordless authentication.

The good news is MFA adoption is on the rise (55% identify strong MFA as the most effective defense against ransomware and malware). However, enterprises continue to use varied authentication methods: 42% rely on SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA), 32% deploy authenticator apps, and 25% use biometrics. Many users still default to passwords alone, emphasizing the need for secure password habits.

No surprise, then, password management remains the top identity access management (IAM) challenge for enterprises, with 35% citing it as their biggest pain point, followed by privileged access management (30%), password reuse (25%), compliance audits (25%), and terminating access for employees who leave (23%).

The conclusion? The report recommends a back-to-basics approach, embedding password management, MFA, and zero-trust principles into daily operations.

Former ConnectWise Founder Arnie Bellini Meant What He Said

Former ConnectWise Founder Arnie Bellini told MSP Success about a year ago that he doesn’t plan to die rich. This week, the now managing partner of Bellini Capital took another step toward that goal with a $40 million gift from him and his wife Lauren to the University of South Florida (USF) to establish the Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing. It’s the largest in USF’s nearly 70-year history and marks the first named college in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to the convergence of AI and cybersecurity.

The Bellini College will open in Fall 2025.

This investment follows the Bellinis’ $11 million gift to establish the Bellini Center for Talent Development at USF’s Muma College of Business, which equips students with the professional and technical skills needed to enter the workforce.
