SonicWall Introduces SonicSentry MXDR for MSPs

SonicWall’s new SonicSentry MXDR is a managed solution for MSPs to protect their clients across the entire attack surface with end-to-end managed threat protection. The suite of offerings includes MDR, MDR for cloud, and MDR for Network, backed by a 24/7 SOC and NOC. MSPs can purchase each service individually with no contracts or minimums; all of them together comprise MXDR.

The goal, according to SonicWall, is to provide a unified approach to cybersecurity by integrating endpoint security, cloud security, and network protection with expert SOC monitoring. The solution incorporates endpoint protection from the CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform, providing AI-driven detection and response and stronger cybersecurity resilience.

“SonicWall has always been committed to delivering cost-effective, enterprise-level security solutions to small businesses, which are increasingly targeted by sophisticated cyberattacks,” said SonicWall President and CEO Bob VanKirk, in a press statement. “That can only be accomplished by having the right people armed with the right tools. Our broad portfolio of solutions is now enhanced through our partnership with industry-leading solutions like those from CrowdStrike.”

In addition, MSP customers of SonicSentry services who also are protected by a SonicWall firewall and Cloud Threat Analytics receive a cyber warranty and discounted, flat-rate cyber insurance, backed and managed by SonicWall’s partnership with Cysurance, provided the customer demonstrates best-practice controls are in place. Warranty coverage ranges from $500,000 for MDR customers using a firewall and Cloud Threat Analytics; coverage increases to $1,000,000 for those customers also deploying Cloud Email Security.

Integrations & Partnerships

Nord Security Integrates with ConnectWise PSA

Nord Security, a provider of advanced cybersecurity solutions, has integrated NordLayer, a toggle-ready network security platform for business, with ConnectWise. Last year, Nord Security integrated NordPass, its next-generation password manager, with ConnectWise.

The integration allows MSPs to:

  • Import and map the companies already in ConnectWise PSA to NordLayer and NordPass.
  • Automatically synchronize monthly subscription usage data for each mapped company with ConnectWise PSA agreements.
  • Streamline billing and invoicing processes by reconciling them with real-time usage data, eliminating the need for manual data entry.

To directly integrate with ConnectWise APIs and platform through the Invent program, integrators must pass an independent security review that ensures their integration is safe and secure.

This strategic integration will enable Stellar Cyber to better prioritize incidents, deliver smarter alerts, and enable more accurate, actionable responses to cyber threats and incidents, according to the company.

Stengthening Email Security Against New AI Threats

A new study from EasyDMARC, an email security platform, revealed that 85% of the 1,000 organizations surveyed see AI as an emerging threat to email security, and 93% plan to strengthen their email security systems as a result. But many cite technical complexity and lack of in-house skills as barriers to deploying advanced security measures like DMARC.

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) is a standard that helps prevent spoofing by verifying the sender’s identity. Major sending sources like Google and Yahoo now require it.

The good news for MSPs? Forty-three percent of respondents are turning to external support (MSPs and consultant) to bridge the expertise gap, according to the report.

And adoption is on the rise. Nearly two-thirds of respondents recognize the significant role email authentication protocols played in reducing spam and improving email security, with 32% viewing them as essential, and another 32% acknowledging their major contribution alongside other security measures.

“The growing threat of AI-powered phishing attacks has pushed IT leaders to seek solutions that can secure their organizations’ inboxes,” said Gerasim Hovhannisyan, CEO and co-founder of EasyDMARC, in a press statement. “It’s crucial that the seemingly technical nature of DMARC implementation doesn’t dissuade IT leaders from adopting what is an incredibly effective tool to combat phishing and spoofing. Simplifying this process and offering the right support has been key to ensuring wider adoption and stronger defenses.”
