NinjaOne has been on the move this year, beefing up its portfolio, leadership team, and partner program. Meanwhile, the company has continued its march toward FedRAMP, achieving Authorization at the Moderate Impact Level.
Among the notable moves, in January, the automated endpoint management platform announced its intention to acquire Dropsuite, a $270 million (USD) transaction that closed in June, marking the company’s first acquisition.
February found NinjaOne flush with more cash from $500 million in Series C extensions at a $5 billion valuation. NinjaOne remains a founder-led and controlled business after the Series C extensions. Co-founders Sal Sferlazza and Chris Matarese remain the biggest equity holders in the company. Those extensions come on the heels of February 2024’s $231.5 million Series C funding round.
In June, the company introduced NinjaOne MDM for macOS, dramatically expanding its Mac management capabilities. IT teams and MSPs can fully manage Windows, macOS, and Linux devices, as well as mobile endpoints across iOS, iPadOS, and Android, from a single interface.
And in August, the company announced a new partnership with Blackpoint Cyber, combining Blackpoint’s expertise in MDR with NinjaOne.
Also in August, NinaOne appointed Paul Redding as head of MSP partnerships. No stranger to the channel, Redding has held channel leadership positions at CyberQP and Compliancy Group, and is also a former MSP. He says a key part of his mission is “focused on delivering sales enablement, marketing enablement, the tools that the MSPs need to actually go out there and engage with their clients and make money.”
In this conversation with Tonya Gentry of Big Red Media/MSP Success, Redding shares that NinjaOne will be leaning into community as it builds out its partner program and “looking for those growth-focused MSPs, the ones that understand the role that they play, not just in the technology within their clients’ environments, but in the businesses themselves.” He also talks about the FedRAMP opportunity for MSPs, how partners can help shape NinjaOne’s roadmap, and why he believes the MSP space is at an inflection point.
