Cork Launches AI-Driven Cyber Insurance Policy Analyzer

Cork Protection launched a real-time cyber insurance policy analysis tool today to help MSPs strengthen their clients’ risk posture. The Policy Analyzer uses Cork’s proprietary agentic AI to scan and interpret dense policy language, flag missing or unclear coverage areas, and highlight how Cork’s cyber warranty can reduce risk. It also provides a summary that MSPs can use to help guide their customers in their coverage decisions.

The Policy Analyzer is the latest addition to the Cork Risk Monitoring Platform, which combines real-time threat intelligence, adaptive premium options, and an embedded cyber warranty. The Policy Analyzer is embedded in the platform and available for free to MSP partners.

Simplfying the Cyber Insurance Process

Dan Candee

MSP partners have been asking Cork for help interpreting their customers’ cyber insurance policies, and if a Cork cyber warranty would bring value, explains CEO Dan Candee. “In order for us to be honest about where we could or couldn’t [bring value], we first had to understand some of the characteristics of the policy. It was very time-consuming for us and so we thought, why can’t we leverage some technology? And then also consume the quantity of cyber insurance policies that were out there.”

To use the Policy Analyzer, MSPs can upload any cyber insurance policy in PDF or text format. The Policy Analyzer automatically scans the document, extracts and evaluates key terms, and uses Cork’s AI to identify coverage gaps or unclear language. It then recommends how Cork’s cyber warranty can address those gaps. According to Cork, the analysis can help MSPs’ clients save on premiums by pairing policies with Cork’s zero-deductible cyber warranty. “They’ll save about 33% by leveraging the relationships that we have with our brokers,” Candee says.

Shining a Light on Cybersecurity Gaps

Candee say Cork’s aim is to “be the source of truth for cybersecurity compliance. And then we wrap all of that up with financial protection. Our platform integrates in an agentless API fashion with our MSPs’ cybersecurity stack. We’ve got 74 integrations built in and counting, which covers 93% of the market for the MSP’s stack around EDR, MFA, etc.,” Candee says. “That’s across seven different cybersecurity categories, which allows the MSP to use their best judgment on their technology and their tools to take care of their clients. And how Cork operates is like turning on all the lights and the MSP or the MSSP can see where there’s gaps in their clients’ ecosystems.”

Cork today partners with two cyber insurance brokers, DataStream Cyber Insurance and FifthWall Solutions, which together represent around 40 carriers, Candee says. In this first version of the Policy Analyzer, clients can secure fast access to coverage via DataStream and FifthWall, based on the findings. Candee expects the next version of the Policy Analyzer to expand to additional brokers.

Looking ahead, Cork is leveraging its AI tool to build “dynamic risk analysis, and our partners can leverage that on a per-client basis, Candee says. And that’s going to be a client-facing piece, and the clients can see their own health and actually be able to take action as an organization.” The time frame for that feature is Q3, Candee says.
