ESET Introduces MDR for MSPs at ESET World 2025

ESET, a global cybersecurity solution provider, is expanding its managed detection and response (MDR) service to MSPs, along with other enhancements to its portfolio to support channel partners across North America. The vendor made the announcement at ESET World 2025, taking place this week at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

In his opening keynote to the 400 or so attendees from around the world, ESET CEO Richard Marko (pictured above) explored the increasing sophistication of cyberthreats, including deep fake videos and AI-driven malware, and the necessity for advanced, integrated cybersecurity systems. He stressed that the company’s “mission is based on our values of courage, integrity, and lot of passion. And, of course, reliability.”

He also emphasized the importance of human expertise and collaboration within the industry, law enforcement, and government in combating these evolving threats.

In today’s cyber threat landscape, “there is a thin line between malicious code and legitimate code,” Marko noted. “It is for our experts to decide what is still beneficial in some way and what is harmful, what is real news, what … is a video that is intended to hurt people or extract money from them? And so the human element is always the key in what we are doing, how we are working on our technology. That’s why we have more than 900 researchers and developers constantly monitoring what is going on.”

Founded in Slovakia more than 30 years ago, ESET is a private, founder-led and owned, channel-first company with North American headquarters in San Diego, California.

New Product Enhancements for MSPs

Powered by an AI-native detection engine, the 24/7 MDR service offers proactive threat hunting and fast response times (as little as 20 minutes), manned by ESET threat intelligence experts.

ESET MDR for MSPs is available as an add-on service to ESET PROTECT Enterprise or ESET PROTECT Elite subscription tiers, with daily billing or monthly invoicing, all based on the number of seats an MSP would like to cover.

“Today, not everyone is able to secure themselves,” ESET CTO Juraj Malcho tells MSP Success. “So this is giving us the opportunity to basically allow MSPs to do it for [themselves] or with us.”

He also noted that the MSP segment of the channel is “an interesting market. And it’s giving us exposure to more customers, those that wouldn’t maybe come to us directly.”

While the MDR offering has been available, ESET made some operational and billing changes to better fit the MSP business model, says Jakub Debski, chief product officer. “We had to adjust the ordering, the billing, and the systems,” he explains, including adding multitenancy, different reporting, and per-seat licensing. “We had to change how the reports are generated to make them adjusted per customer, to make it more personal and to give a feeling of value to the customers and to the MSPs.”

Travis Woods, CEO at Fort Point IT, an MSP in San Francisco, says he’s excited about MDR for MSPs. “It’s about time,” he says. His company has been a partner for about three years, using their Cloud Office Security solution and the XDR solution ESET PROTECT Elite. Until now, the MDR service “didn’t fit our model,” says Woods, who adds that he’s glad ESET took the time to get the offering right. “It shows their dedication to making sure something is ready; it comes out right and fully baked.”

In addition, Cameron Tousley, director of MSP channels at ESET, says MSPs can get discounted pricing. “We have a pretty rich discount on a lot of our programs for MSPs that include both a margin discount or a discount off of a list, and then also a volume tier discount. So the more they license, the more their costs will go down and essentially profitability should go up.”

Other announcements at ESET World 2025 aimed at MSPs include Ransomware Remediation, a next-gen cybersecurity feature that helps MSPs quickly prevent and remediate ransomware attacks against their clients. Ransomware Remediation creates secure backups of critical data and allows automated file recovery and restoration. It complements ESET’s existing real-time Ransomware Shield and minimizes downtime and costs for clients.

Ransomware Remediation is a free addition for channel partners’ customers with ESET PROTECT Advanced tier and above.

In addition, ESET Cloud Office Security now includes new anti-spoofing capabilities to detect and block impostor messages and homoglyph protection to identify disguised malicious domains and URLs. These new features are designed to help MSPs more easily prevent phishing attacks.

Also geared for MSPs, ESET AI Advisor is now available to a broader range of ESET EDR/XDR customers, including those with ESET PROTECT Enterprise, ESET PROTECT Elite, and ESET PROTECT MDR subscriptions.

Expanded Threat Intelligence

In other announcements, ESET is expanding its Cyber Threat Intelligence services to provide actionable intelligence and address modern cybersecurity requirements faced by businesses of all sizes. The enhancements include 15 proprietary intelligence feeds and two sub-feeds, including ransomware, smishing, cryptoscams, IoCs, botnets, phishing URLs, and more. In addition, ESET has added two new APT (advanced persistent threat0 report tiers to ensure organizations of all sizes and budgets can access these services.

ESET Cyber Threat Intelligence services are standalone, customizable, and can be integrated into multivendor security solutions.

Looking ahead, Malcho told attendees ESET is localizing its security awareness training offering to more languages “and quite soon we’ll have a new release of the solution to more countries.”
