Pax8 this week launched their first official partner program, Pax8 Voyager Alliance. This announcement builds on Pax8 Marketplace, launched earlier this year.

Pax8 CXO Craig Donovan (pictured right) says that though Pax8’s business model has been centered around their partners from the beginning, this is the first time it has been formally documented and established. “[Voyager] really is an evolution of the existing program,” he says. “As we’ve grown and scaled, not only has our number of partners increased, but their demands have changed. We realized now is the right time for us to create a more tailored and curated experience for our partners, so that we are overachieving and delivering an exceptional experience regardless of the partner[’s size and needs].”
What To Expect From Pax8 Voyager Alliance
The Voyager program is divided into five tiers: Alliance, Ignite, Velocity, Titan, and Galactic. Partners are divided into tiers according to their current spend with Pax8. “Each of those tiers unlock a different level of benefits—greater tiered pricing in the professional services, different levels of support, etc. We’re trying to tailor those offerings based on the size of the partner,” Donovan says.
Key features of the new program, in addition to the Marketplace capabilities, include:
- 100+ on-demand Academy courses
- Industry-leading partner support
- Instructor-led Academy courses
- Pax8 Professional Services
- Academy peer groups
- Academy business coaching
Donovan says, “I’m excited about a couple things. One, the clear transparency of [the program], so that partners have a very clear idea of what their expectations are today, and what they need to do to possibly move into the next tier. Second, the platform is giving us the chance to celebrate all the things we already do for our partners. There’s a lot of things we do, such as the Academy and professional services support, that a lot of partners don’t necessarily know they have access to. This has given us the platform to reintroduce ourselves.”
Pax8 asserts that becoming a Voyager partner will give MSPs an advantage over their competitors. Specifically, Donovan credits this competitive advantage to the enablement services Pax8 offers their partners: “Whether that’s the professional services organization—where MSPs can take on challenging projects and help a partner get into an opportunity they couldn’t do normally—or the Pax8 Academy,” he says. “The goal is to meet our partners exactly where they’re at and provide them with all of the education and enablement it takes for them to move into the next stage.”
More To Come…
Up next, Pax8 will improve the partner experience by continuing to add value to both Voyager and Marketplace. Featured on their roadmap is a new points-based reward program, where Pax8 rewards partners for their spend. “This will allow [Pax8 partners] to continue to build up that currency and reinvest those points into their business, the way they want to, whether that’s investing in more services, more education, or turning on more licenses. Every one of our partners is different, with different missions and goals. We want to continue to create that value and the ability for partners to tailor it to themselves,” Donovan says.
But that’s not all—Pax8 aims to keep the value coming. Donovan teased that he hopes “that partners should get used to seeing a regular cadence of value dropping into Voyager every month or two. Something new—something else for the partners to access and help drive their business.”
MSPs’ Marketplace Response
Of MSPs’ response to Marketplace, Donovan says, “It’s been terrific. We’re really changing the paradigm and how partners interact with the marketplace and how they interact with their customers. As they continue using the marketplace and testing those features every month, we see greater and greater usage. We’re already filtering the feedback we’re getting into new features and customizing the platform for our partners.” Additionally, of those Pax8 MSPs with a new Storefront, per-customer self-service recurring revenue has increased by 38% as of October 2024, according to Pax8. As a partner-centric marketplace, Pax8 requests that MSPs continue to offer them feedback. “The primary ask for me is that we build this with our partners, for our partners,” Donovan says. “We love the feedback, whether that’s connecting with us through the cams, joining our partner voice network, or catching us at the show. The feedback helps us continue to build the right thing.”
Pax8 Voyager Alliance is available now for all MSPs. Any preexisting Pax8 partners have already been placed in one of the five tiers of the Voyager program. MSP partners can visit the Pax8 platform to see their tier and new features.
