Vantage Unveils Cloud Cost Management Solution for MSPs

Cloud cost management platform provider Vantage announced Vantage for MSPs, a suite of capabilities designed for MSPs and resellers.

Vantage for MSPs gives partners insight into each customer’s cloud infrastructure spend and the ability to track these costs over time. With centralized account management, MSPs can observe spend, optimizations, and changes across their entire account portfolio from a single portal. And with customizable billing, partners can define billing rates, including credits, additional charges, and rate modifications for tailored client management. The solution also offers individualized client reporting and has partner-friendly, fixed-rate pricing.

Ben Schaechter

We asked Ben Schaechter, co-founder and CEO of Vantage, why the company decided to get into the channel. “Over the past year, we’ve been receiving an increasing amount of interest from MSPs and resellers,” he tells MSP Success. “One of the trends behind this demand is the rise of FinOps, which is quickly becoming a mainstream practice for both MSPs and enterprises. After a correction of a 10-year bull market focused on growth, businesses now need to be more efficient with their cloud usage. And FinOps allows them to reduce costs, while also doubling down on innovation. That’s why we knew we needed to build a FinOps solution that would meet the unique needs of the MSP and reseller community.”

Schaechter says Vantage wanted to reduce the headaches MSPs can experience using other cloud cost management solutions. “The real value of Vantage for MSPs lies in the ability for our partners to centrally manage their clients’ accounts from a single portal, while also meeting the specific needs of each individual customer. We designed this solution with MSPs in mind, so we included things like re-rating options and very flexible reporting capabilities that make our partners’ lives a lot easier.”

Vantage for MSPs is now generally available. For MSPs or resellers using other cloud cost management solutions, Vantage is providing a dedicated transition team free of charge.

Barracuda Research Identifies Healthcare As Top Ransomware Target

High-profile cyberattacks on healthcare organizations have been dominating the news. So it’s no surprise that Barracuda’s new Threat Spotlight identifies healthcare as the top industry target for bad actors. The Spotlight reveals a rise in attacks against healthcare organizations, with 21% of attacks targeting this sector, up from 18% a year ago. The second most targeted industry is municipalities at 17%. And attacks against financial services jumped from less than 1% last year to 6% in 2024. Meanwhile, the education sector saw a significant decrease in incidents, dropping to 9% from the previous year’s 18%.

Ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) models are leading the attack wave, with varied targets but a significant focus on healthcare and municipalities. These models include LockBit, ALPHV (BlackCat), and the newly emerged Rhysida, according to the report.

This year’s study examined 200 reported ransomware incidents across 37 countries, spotlighting 36 ransomware groups and their tactics.

Cloud-based Disaster Recovery Market To Soar

Allied Market Research’s Cloud-based Disaster Recovery Market report valued the cloud-based disaster recovery market was at $9.9 billion in 2023, and forecasts it will reach $92.8 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 25.1% from 2024 to 2033.

The report finds that several factors are driving growth. These include the increase in frequency and severity of natural disasters, the surge in need for data security and scalability, and a rise in focus among businesses to have a reliable and scalable disaster recovery solution.

AI Is Driving Unified Communications and Collaboration Adoption

IDC is forecasting that the worldwide unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) market will reach $69.1 billion in revenue in 2024, an increase of 7.5% over last year. By 2028, IDC expects the UC&C market will reach $85 billion, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.7%.

“The UC&C market has matured after significant investments were made in the past few years by businesses to address the changed work environment,” said Jitesh Gera, research manager, Unified Communications and Collaboration at IDC, in a press statement. “In addition, the crowded UC&C market has led many solutions toward commoditization. However, AI is now changing the game altogether, bringing a fresh wave of new and differentiated capabilities that are likely to draw more investments in the coming years as businesses vie for enhanced employee productivity and better customer engagement.”

UC collaboration (meeting software without voice telephony subscriptions) and unified communications as a service (UCaaS) (meeting software including voice telephony subscriptions) accounted for most of the worldwide market revenue (89%) in 2023.

Microsoft continues to lead the worldwide UC&C market with a 44.7% market share by revenue in Q1 2024, followed by Zoom and Cisco with a 6.4% and 5.5% market share, respectively.
