Human risk management vendor Mimecast began a new era in 2024. It was marked by a leadership change, several strategic acquisitions, a new MSP partner program, a new platform, and the execution of a human-centric strategy. Stan de Boisset, senior vice president of worldwide partners, who joined the company in March of 2023, wants MSPs to know that Mimecast is investing heavily in their MSP partners. “We have over 23,000 customers today who consume Mimecast through MSPs. That’s a growth area for us,” de Boisset says. “We’re open for business with them.”
Mimecast launched 20 years ago as a cloud-based email security, continuity, and archiving platform. In January of 2024, the company named Marc van Zadelhoff as CEO. He replaced co-founder Peter Bauer, who remains a board member and investor. And in March, Mimecast opened its first Canadian office in the Toronto areas.
Throughout 2024, Mimecast made several acquisitions. These included Elevate Security, a provider of human risk management solutions; Aware, an AI collaboration security platform; and Code42, an insider threat management and data loss prevention provider. Building on these acquisitions, the company launched a Human Risk Management (HRM) platform in July. It was a milestone in Mimecast’s evolution to managing and mitigating human-centered security risks.
In this episode of Partner Playbook, Tonya Gentry of Big Red Media/MSP Success chats with de Boisset about the launch of Mimecast’s Partner ONE MSP Program in November and the company’s plans to invest heavily in MSP partners going forward. The conversation also covers Mimecast’s intent to expand to new geographic areas. And de Boisset shares details about the upcoming operational improvements Mimecast is making for its MSP partners, and the new bundles they are designing to be adaptive to an MSP’s customer needs at an appealing price point.
